Position Summary

The General Manager is responsible for the overall success of the restaurant, overseeing daily operations, financial performance, staff leadership, guest satisfaction, and brand standards. This role requires a strong hospitality leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and leads by example.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Guest Experience

Oversee all day-to-day restaurant operations
Ensure exceptional guest service and resolve guest concerns promptly and professionally
Maintain brand standards for food quality, beverage execution, cleanliness, and atmosphere
Monitor service flow and adjust staffing and operations as needed
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and liquor regulations

Leadership & Team Management

Recruit, hire, train, schedule, and develop all management and hourly staff
Foster a positive, respectful, and high-performance workplace culture
Lead by example on the floor during peak service times
Conduct performance reviews and provide ongoing coaching and feedback
Address disciplinary issues professionally and consistently

Financial & Business Management

Manage budgets, labor costs, food and beverage costs, and operating expenses
Oversee inventory management, ordering, and vendor relationships
Drive revenue through promotions, events, and upselling strategies
Ensure accurate cash handling, deposits, and financial controls alongside the franchise office

Marketing & Community Engagement

Support and execute marketing initiatives and local promotions
Build strong relationships within the Jungle Jim’s brand
Represent the brand positively both in-house and externally
Collaborate with the franchise office on growth and brand initiatives

Administrative & Compliance

Ensure compliance with all local, provincial, and federal regulations
Maintain accurate records, schedules, and reports
Review and approve all clocked hours for payroll processed by head office
Enforce company policies and procedures consistently

Qualifications & Experience

Experience managing or supervising in a full-service restaurant or bar
Strong knowledge of food, beverage, and bar-focused operations
Proven leadership and team-building skills
Solid understanding of financial reporting, labor control, and cost management
Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Passion for hospitality and guest experience is essential
Maintain up-to-date Food Handler’s certificate
