Full job description

ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

Flint & Steel is seeking a highly organized and motivated Administrative Assistant to support our growing construction and business operations. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys bookkeeping, administration, problem-solving, and working independently in a fast-paced environment.

The successful candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, trustworthy, and capable of managing multiple responsibilities with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities

Administrative support including scheduling, correspondence, filing, and document management.
Accounts payable and accounts receivable processing.
Payroll administration and bookkeeping using QuickBooks Online.
Bank and credit card reconciliations.
Preparation and organization of year-end financial documentation.
Vendor communication and record management.
Assisting with the development and improvement of office systems and procedures.
Supporting multiple business operations as required.
General office administration and special projects.

Qualifications

3–5 years of administrative and bookkeeping experience required.
3–5 years of experience using QuickBooks Online required.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Google Workspace.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
Ability to work independently, take initiative, and solve problems with minimal supervision.
High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.
Comfortable learning new software and adapting to changing priorities.
Experience in construction administration, job costing, purchase orders, contractor documentation, or project coordination is considered a strong asset.
Experience in construction, retail, or small business environments is preferred.
