About Us

APS Machining is a leading provider of precision manufacturing solutions, producing complex, high-quality components for industries such as energy and industrial equipment. Our Red Deer facility is growing, and we are looking for reliable and detail-oriented CNC Machine Operators to join our day and afternoon shifts.

What You’ll Do

Operate CNC lathes and/or milling machines to produce precision components.
Load and unload parts, materials, and tooling.
Follow established machine programs, setup instructions, work orders, and production procedures.
Monitor machine operation and make basic tool-offset adjustments as required.
Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools, including micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
Identify and report quality concerns, machine issues, or process problems.
Complete production and inspection records accurately.
Assist with machine setups, tool changes, and routine maintenance as required.
Work with machinists, supervisors, and quality personnel to meet production and quality requirements.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
Follow all company health, safety, and quality procedures.

Qualifications

Previous experience operating CNC machines in a manufacturing environment.
Experience with CNC lathes and/or milling machines.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and work instructions.
Familiarity with precision measuring tools, such as micrometers and calipers.
Basic understanding of CNC controls, tooling, and machine offsets.
Ability to consistently produce parts within specified tolerances.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Dependable, safety-conscious, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
Ability to stand for extended periods and safely handle materials associated with the position.
Availability to work either a day shift or an afternoon shift.

Preferred Assets

Experience operating Mazak machines or similar CNC equipment.
Familiarity with G-code and GD&T.
Experience performing machine setups and tool changes.
Forklift or overhead crane certification.
Machining education, apprenticeship training, or related certification.
