Lead Instructor & Programming Partner
Part-Time | Port Moody, BC | In-Studio
A strong instructor can lead a class. A great one shapes the standard of an entire studio.
Londie is a reformer Pilates and wellness studio opening in Port Moody, created from a quiet knowing that movement could be more than exercise. We offer reformer Pilates alongside restorative therapies, including infrared sauna, red light therapy, halotherapy, and compression therapy. Londie exists to bring movement and recovery together as one seamless and essential experience. Everything we’re creating is designed to help people feel clear, capable, and at home in their body.
ABOUT THE ROLE
You will work closely with the founders to translate vision into the daily experience of every class, lead the instructor team, and ensure the quality of teaching at Londie is consistent and exceptional. This role is about building craft, consistency, and a high standard across every class on the schedule. Every detail matters, from how a class is cued to how each person feels when they walk out the door.
In the first 6–8 weeks, the work will be largely foundational. Before the studio opens there is structure to create — building the class schedule, onboarding and supporting instructors, enrolling members, and being present for the early client relationships that will define the Londie experience from day one. This is intentional time. It is an opportunity to understand the studio from the inside out, before stepping fully into the rhythm of the floor.
The right person loves teaching, loves developing other teachers, and takes ownership of both client experience and the craft of the room. You are proactive, accountable for outcomes rather than just tasks, and take pride in building something elevated and intentional. This is an exciting foundational role in a new studio, and hands-on leadership is at the heart of it. It calls for someone energised by that, not intimidated by it. Through your teaching, your ownership, and your attention to detail, you will shape how the studio feels from the inside out.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Teaching & Class Delivery:
Lead group reformer classes across all levels, from beginner to advanced. Set the tone of each class through your presence, cueing, and care. Offer precise, confidence-building cues and thoughtful hands-on support. Adapt for injuries, varied experience, and the energy in the room each day.
Client Experience:
Deliver a consistent, high-quality experience in every class. Build relationships with clients, gather feedback, and strengthen the community. Ensure every interaction feels aligned with Londie’s standards.
Instructor Development & Leadership:
Lead the hiring and onboarding of new instructors and align the team around shared teaching standards and Londie's philosophy. Mentor and support the instructor team. Set expectations, provide feedback, and hold accountability.
Programming & Craft:
Collaborate with the founders on class formats, specialty programming, and workshops. Contribute to the development of onboarding programs for new clients. Help shape how the studio’s movement offering evolves over time.
Studio Direction & Growth:
Bring your perspective from the floor into weekly conversations about the studio’s direction and culture. Contribute to maintaining a consistent and well-run teaching environment.
YOU’RE A GREAT FIT IF YOU...
- Are a certified reformer Pilates instructor with comprehensive reformer training (STOTT, Balanced Body, BASI, or equivalent) and 2+ years of reformer teaching experience
- Have a real sense of how to hold a room. People settle when you start talking, and they leave your classes feeling stronger than when they walked in
- Teach from a place of genuine care, not performance. You want your clients to succeed more than you want to be seen
- Are a forever learner. You’re always looking to grow, refine your teaching, and bring back something new to the team and your clients
- Communicate clearly and kindly, whether giving feedback, asking for support, or navigating something new
- Desire more than a teaching schedule. You want to be part of building something from the ground up and having a voice in how it evolves
