Full job description

We are seeking an experienced Litigation Administrative Assistant or a LAA/Paralegal in our client's Vancouver office to support their Litigation Department. This role involves working on a broad range of litigation matters.

This position is ideal for a highly organized, detail oriented and proactive Legal Assistant, experienced in managing complex litigation files in a fast-paced environment.

You will be working with two exceptional lawyers on PI, Estate, Construction and some Family files.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Managing litigation files from intake through to settlement or trial
Drafting pleadings, list of documents applications, affidavits, and correspondence
Preparing mediation briefs and trial materials, examination for discovery and arbitrations
Filing and serving court documents in the BC Supreme Court
Tracking limitation periods and critical litigation deadlines
Supporting occupiers’ liability claims under the Occupiers Liability Act
Assisting with construction litigation matters, including builder’s lien filings under the Builders Lien Act
Communicating with clients in a professional and compassionate manner
Time entry, billing support, and general litigation administrative assistance
Providing additional support to members of the Litigation Department as required

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

· Completion of an accredited Legal Administrative Assistant program

· 4+ years of litigation LAA experience (BC experience required)

· Solid understanding of BC Supreme Court Civil Rules

· Exposure to construction litigation is a bonus

· Exceptional organizational and deadline management skills

· Ability to manage multiple active files independently

· Strong client service orientation and emotional intelligence

· Strong written and verbal communication skills

· Proficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe PDF, FileSite/iManage DMS, and Elite 3E accounting software (preferred)

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $65,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
