Job Description:
The Die Maintenance Coordinator is responsible for coordinating, tracking, maintaining, and supporting all tooling related activities to ensure tools are available, maintained, and optimized to meet production, quality, cost and delivery requirements. This role also oversees the purchasing of tools, inventory management, and scheduling of tooling for production, acting as a key liaison between production, engineering, quality, maintenance, and external tool vendors.
Duties & Responsibilities:

Plan and schedule maintenance work to ensure that work is done efficiently with minimal impact on production.

Create, review and close all work orders in the company’s document control system PLEX

Coordinate the design, purchase, repair, modification, and maintenance of tooling (molds, dies, jigs, fixtures, gauges).

Track tooling lifecycle, usage, condition and maintenance schedules

Ensure that tooling is available, scheduled and production-ready to meet manufacturing requirements.

Source and purchase tooling as needed, negotiating with vendors for cost-effective solutions.

Maintain accurate inventory of all tools, parts and consumables.

Track tooling lead times, stock levels, and reorder points to prevent production delays

Work closely with production and maintenance teams to resolve tooling related issues.

Support tooling trials, first articles and production launches

Assist with root cause analysis for tooling related defects or downtime.

Manage onsite stores and ensure the availability of parts/materials to execute work, as well as establishing and maintaining proper spare parts/consumable inventory, and generating RFPs for re-orders.

Participate in weekly Die Maintenance scheduling meetings.

Coordinate work assignments and scheduling of maintenance technicians needed to successfully execute planned die maintenance activities

Coordinate contract work and provide contractor orientation

Participate in failure analysis and operational improvement activities.

Able to manage multiple projects or responsibilities at one time while effectively communicating and liaising with various business units.

Participate in 5S and continuous improvement (Kaizen).
Qualifications:
-
Minimum 2 years’ experience in a tooling planner/coordinator role or related experience and/or demonstrated work experience/internal training/testing.

Understanding and experience with IATF 1649:2016 and ISO./TS16949 certification systems

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.

Intuitive; able to anticipate needs and respond with a sense of urgency.

Action orientated, flexible, dedicated approachable and committed.

Strong presentation, written, and verbal skills

Computer literacy, including effective working skills of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams), and email.

Attention to detail in all areas of work.
