Duties
- Provide legal counsel to clients on family law matters, including divorce, child custody, visitation rights, and adoption.
- Draft legal documents such as pleadings, motions, settlement agreements, and court filings with precision and clarity.
- Conduct thorough legal research using tools like LexisNexis to support case strategies and stay updated on relevant laws.
- Negotiate settlements between parties to achieve favorable outcomes while maintaining professionalism and client interests.
- Represent clients in court hearings, mediations, and negotiations with strong advocacy skills.
- Maintain detailed case files and documentation to ensure compliance with legal standards and deadlines.
- Collaborate with other legal professionals and support staff to coordinate case efforts effectively.
- Stay informed about changes in family law legislation and best practices through continuous professional development.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Valid license to practice law in Ontario.
- Proven experience in family law practice is highly preferred.
- Proficiency with legal research tools such as LexisNexis.
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to reach amicable settlements when possible.
- Excellent research capabilities to support case preparation and strategy development.
- Exceptional writing skills for drafting clear, concise legal documents.
- Proficiency in legal drafting techniques tailored to family law cases.
- Outstanding communication skills for client interaction and courtroom advocacy.

Pay: $66,467.50-$187,103.07 per year
