Dags & Willow is an iconic Fine Cheese & Gourmet Food store located in downtown Collingwood. We offer a selection of house-made prepared food and host exceptional catered events either in The Willow Room or off-site.

Our event business is growing quickly and we are hiring additional staff to keep up with the demand. This is your opportunity to join and exciting, growing business.

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and service, with a commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety and quality. As a Cook, you will play a crucial role in delivering delicious meals that meet our customers' expectations while working in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Duties

Prepare and cook a variety of food items, including but not limited to: e.g., salads, sandwiches, entrees
Follow recipes and cooking instructions accurately
Ensure food quality and presentation standards are met
Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to food safety and sanitation guidelines
Assist with kitchen operations, including stocking and prepping ingredients
Maintain accurate inventory records of food and supplies
May be required to assist with setting up and overseeing buffets

Qualifications:

Proven professional kitchen experience
Knowledge of food preparation techniques and cooking methods
Ability to follow recipes and cooking instructions accurately
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Food safety certification (e.g., ServSafe) preferred
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Culinary school diploma or certificate is a plus

Experience

Previous experience in the food industry or restaurant setting is required.
Familiarity with food preparation techniques, meal preparation, and kitchen operations.
Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling practices is essential.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team are necessary for success in this role.
A passion for cooking and creating exceptional dining experiences is highly valued.
