Timings: Between Monday - Friday

Home Support Workers (HSWs) provide professional and compassionate support in homes and residences in the community. HSW's assist our clients and families with a variety of household support duties, allowing them to live life to the fullest, with dignity and independence.

This is a non-clinical role focused on cleaning and household support. No personal care or PSW duties are required.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Dusting, Mopping, Vacuuming.
Cleaning of the kitchen, bathroom, and other living areas.
Washing dishes, making beds, and doing laundry.
Light meals preparation and grocery shopping.
Monitor client’s well-being and informs supervisor of any changes or incidents.
Work with limited supervision and as part of a team of health care professionals.
Travel to client’s home daily to perform services for the agency clients.
Perform other duties as required.

EDUCATION, SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:

Experience in cleaning services.
Experience working with a vulnerable population is preferred
Physical ability to perform light cleaning (e.g. washing floors, dusting, laundry) and knowledge of basic health and safety standards.
Knowledge of routine precautions required for cleanliness and disinfecting and for the control of the spread of communicable diseases (IPAC).
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
Demonstrated ability to work with limited supervision.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

Current Vulnerable Sector Police check required completed within last 12 months is required
Immunization for tuberculosis, chickenpox, mumps and hepatitis B is strongly urged.
Access to a reliable vehicle is preferred
Current First AID & CPR Certification is required.
Mandatory COVID -19 vaccination required.
