Executive Chef – Asian Cuisine

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Executive Chef to lead the culinary direction and opening of a new upscale dining destination at SkyTower, one of Toronto’s most anticipated landmark developments. Located on Toronto’s waterfront at One Yonge Street, SkyTower will feature the new Le Méridien Toronto Pinnacle Hotel, multiple food and beverage venues, banquet and event spaces, wellness concepts, and luxury residential living within Canada’s tallest residential tower.
This is a rare opportunity to shape a signature restaurant concept from the ground up while joining the opening leadership team of one of Toronto’s most anticipated hospitality projects. The restaurant will deliver a refined dining experience focused on elevated Asian cuisine, exceptional service, sophisticated design, and memorable guest experiences for both local and international clientele.
We are seeking a passionate culinary leader with strong fine dining experience, creativity, operational excellence, and the ability to build and inspire high-performing teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all culinary operations for the restaurant, including menu development, food presentation, quality standards, and kitchen leadership
- Create and execute an innovative fine dining Asian cuisine concept aligned with the restaurant’s vision and market positioning
- Recruit, train, mentor, and inspire a high-performing culinary team
- Oversee food costing, inventory control, purchasing, scheduling, and labor management
- Collaborate with ownership and leadership teams on concept development, guest experience, and opening strategy
- Support media events, VIP experiences, and promotional activations related to the opening
Preferred Qualifications
- Culinary Diploma, or equivalent professional experience
- Minimum 5–10 years of progressive culinary leadership experience in upscale or fine dining restaurants
- Strong background in Asian cuisine and modern culinary techniques
- Michelin-starred, luxury hotel, or internationally recognized restaurant experience considered an asset
- Pre-opening experience strongly preferred
- Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and mentoring skills
- Experience managing high-volume fine dining operations while maintaining elevated culinary standards
- Passion for hospitality, creativity, and guest experience excellence
