Full job description

Junior Staff Accountant

Our fast-growing construction company is looking for a motivated, detail-oriented individual to join our team full-time. This position is responsible for providing administrative and organizational support to our Financial Controller.

Key Qualifications / Responsibilities:

Accounting or booking background – minimum 2 years of experience in related field
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel
Experience working with our current construction management software, CMiC, is an asset
Ability to work independently as well as cohesively with employees and managers as part of a team
Excellent administrative and organizational skills
Responsible for the full cycle of accounts payable
Verify invoice accuracy with correct tax charge, entering all the approved invoiced into accounting system
Process and handle payments, including EFT, online, cheques, bank draft, wire transfer, pre-authorized, etc
Have knowledge of approved vendors & polices to avoid paying unauthorized invoices and expenses
Reconcile AP vendors statements & reports, plus managing monthly cut-off to assist financial statement preparation
Manage, reconcile and report all capital projects expenses regularly
Handle, manage and reconcile all credit card statements to ensure posting and paying them on time
Take charge of all invoice & billing discrepancies and resolve them with all parties
Perform accounts receivable functions to support accounting team
Ability to maintain confidentiality of pertinent data
Reply to accounts payable inquiries via email

Online submission of Client Invoicing
Salary will be based on amount of experience
