Full job description

Location: Mississauga, ON

Reports to: Property Manager, Leasing Manager

We are a Mississauga based, Commercial Real Estate Asset Management company looking for a full-time Property Management Associate.

This role is well suited for a candidate looking to roll up their sleeves, wear multiple hats and contribute to many aspects of real estate, including: leasing, market research, job costing, and project management.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist with the leasing of commercial space (office, industrial, retail) within the company’s portfolio; in a manner so as to maximize return on investment
Support to the Leasing, Property Management and Asset Management team
Work closely with real estate agents to obtain up-to-date market information and trends
With supervision, prepare, negotiate and conclude, as the case may be, Lease Proposals, Waivers, Offers to Lease and Leases, letters, etc.
Understand markets and sites thoroughly which includes periodic site visits and project management for assigned properties
Assist with collections and processing invoices (as needed)
Co-ordinate with construction trades to ensure work, timing and other conditions under the lease agreements are being satisfactorily met
Budget, plan, tender and assist with the coordination of tenant improvements, capital projects and tenant move-in/outs
Review of tenant billings and year-end adjustments for accuracy
Respond to emergency situations outside of regular business hours, when required
Other duties as assigned from time to time

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum 3 years of Property Management experience within the Commercial Real Estate Industry
Bachelor’s Degree (from an accredited university), preferably specializing in Real Estate, Economics, Urban Planning, Business or related field
Financial/accounting acumen an asset
Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point) and, preferably, computerized accounting systems
Work independently and collaboratively with leasing and property managers and other staff
Strong written and oral communication skills (professional emails and appropriate mannerisms when speaking with tenants, brokers, vendors, trades, etc.)
Must be self-motivated, possess strong organizational and analytical skills and have the desire to learn
Must have a valid driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle
