We are looking for a dedicated Fisheries Biologist to join Trinity Consultants Canada Water & Ecology. Location: This is a hybrid role based out of any of our office locations across Ontario, British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Yukon, or Nova Scotia.

WONDERING WHAT YOU'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR?
Your role will require you to bring a high standard of scientific excellence to your daily work. The following responsibilities will be in your domain:
- Leading and supporting the planning and implementation of fisheries and aquatic assessment projects across Canada.
- Conducting assessments focused on fish habitat, fish communities and health, integrating elements in areas such as geomorphology, limnology, hydrology, water/sediment quality, and benthic invertebrate communities.
- Contributing fish and fish habitat expertise to large multi-disciplinary projects in collaboration with our other senior staff.
- Mentoring junior team members and supporting knowledge sharing within the aquatic sciences team.
- Representing Trinity Consultants Canada - Water & Ecology in the scientific community through high-quality deliverables, industry engagement, and participation in technical conferences.
THE QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Advanced degree in a relevant field
- 4-6 years of relevant experience, including fish collection using various methods, fish community characterization, and assessment of fish population and health data.
- Effective analytical and technical editing and review skills, and ability to ensure the delivery of high-quality reports and proposals.
- Ability to communicate complex scientific information clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing, to diverse audiences including team members, clients, regulators, and stakeholders.
- Excellent time management, organizational, and multi-tasking skills.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality, excellence, and ethics.
- Hands-on expertise in planning and conducting aquatic field programs using a variety of sampling techniques for water, sediment, benthic invertebrates, fish and fish habitat; familiarity with QA/QC protocols and data integrity standards.
- Competent with Microsoft programs
- Strong knowledge of statistical analysis
- R.P.Bio. (or equivalent professional designation), or eligibility for registration is an asset
- Experience in the mining sector is an asset
