Redwave Marketing Inc. is a growing direct sales and marketing company specializing in residential telecommunications. We work with major telecom providers and are expanding our operations across Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and the United States.
As our company continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced HR & Recruitment Manager to take ownership of our HR department and help build a strong, reliable workforce.
The Role
This is a hands-on HR leadership position. You will be responsible for both recruitment and day-to-day HR operations.
You will lead the recruitment of sales representatives, manage employee and independent contractor onboarding/offboarding, maintain HR records, support managers with HR matters, track workforce requirements, and help establish scalable HR systems and processes as Redwave expands.
This position is hybrid, with a combination of remote work and in-office responsibilities in Winnipeg.
Key Responsibilities
Recruitment & Talent Acquisition
- Manage the full recruitment cycle from job posting through hiring and onboarding. Recruit high-volume sales representatives across Winnipeg, rural Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and U.S. markets. Post and manage positions on Indeed, LinkedIn, Facebook, and other recruitment platforms. Screen applications and conduct phone, video, and in-person interviews. Coordinate reference and background checks. Build and maintain an active candidate pipeline. Develop new recruitment strategies and sources to consistently maintain company headcount. Work with management to identify current and future hiring requirements.
HR Department Management
- Take ownership of the day-to-day HR function at Redwave. Develop and maintain organized HR processes, policies, and procedures. Maintain accurate employee and independent contractor personnel files. Manage employment/contractor documentation and HR records. Track active employees, contractors, new hires, and departures. Handle HR-related questions and provide support to management and staff. Maintain strict confidentiality of employee and company information. Assist with employee relations, performance issues, attendance concerns, and disciplinary documentation.
Onboarding & Offboarding
- Coordinate the complete onboarding process for new hires and contractors. Ensure all required agreements, identification, banking information, background checks, and other documentation are completed. Coordinate training and orientation. Ensure new representatives are properly prepared and cleared to begin field operations. Manage offboarding procedures, including documentation, equipment return, system access termination, and final HR records.
Workforce & Performance Management
- Maintain accurate company headcount reports. Monitor hiring needs and staffing levels. Track turnover and retention. Assist management with performance management and disciplinary processes. Maintain appropriate documentation for HR-related incidents. Identify staffing gaps and proactively recruit replacements.
HR Administration & Reporting
- Maintain HR databases and personnel records. Track important employee/contractor documentation and agreements. Prepare weekly and monthly HR reports for management. Track recruitment and workforce KPIs. Assist with payroll-related HR information and reporting. Help implement HR systems and processes as the company grows. Coordinate HR communications and internal documentation.
Multi-Location & Expansion Support
- Support recruitment and HR operations across multiple provinces and U.S. markets. Help establish consistent HR processes as Redwave expands. Coordinate with management and external HR/legal professionals when required for jurisdiction-specific matters.
Recruitment & HR KPIs
You will be responsible for tracking and reporting on:
- Applications received Candidates screened Interviews completed Offers made New hires New representatives deployed Time-to-hire Recruitment source performance 30/60/90-day retention Employee/contractor turnover Open positions Current headcount Hiring requirements by market
Hybrid Work
This is a hybrid position.
You will work remotely for activities such as:
- Candidate screening Interviews Recruitment HR administration Documentation Reporting
You will work from the Redwave office when required for:
- In-person interviews New-hire onboarding Training coordination Management meetings HR meetings Other operational requirements
Occasional travel may be required for recruitment events, training, or expansion activities.
What We're Looking For
Required:
- 2+ years of experience in HR, recruitment, or a related role. Experience managing high-volume recruitment. Strong organizational and administrative skills. Excellent written and verbal communication. Ability to independently manage multiple priorities. Strong confidentiality and professionalism. Comfortable working with HR systems, Indeed, LinkedIn, Excel/Google Sheets, and other digital tools. Ability to work independently in a hybrid environment.
Assets:
- Experience recruiting sales representatives. Experience in high-volume sales, staffing, or recruitment. Experience managing HR for a growing company. Experience supporting multiple locations. Experience with Canadian and/or U.S. HR operations. Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
