Full job description

Job Title: System Administrator

Job Type: 6-month Contract (possibility of extension)

Location: 222 Bay Street, Hybrid (4 days onsite required)

Start Date: ASAP

Hours per week: 40 hours

Shift Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM

Rate: $47/hr Term OR $57/hr Inc.

Summary

Senior-level Systems Administrator responsible for supporting, maintaining, and securing enterprise infrastructure across cloud and on-prem environments. The role includes operational support, project delivery, and continuous improvement of messaging, backup/recovery, and infrastructure platforms while working within a geographically distributed team.

Key Responsibilities

Administer and support Active Directory, Exchange, cloud platforms, and virtual infrastructure
Provide L3 escalation support and oversee production/non-production environments
Maintain and enhance backup, recovery, and storage systems
Analyze and remediate security vulnerabilities
Lead and contribute to national/global IT projects and deployments
Perform email flow management, routing, and troubleshooting
Create and maintain documentation, SOPs, and disaster recovery procedures
Support and provide oversight to third-party operational teams
Mentor junior team members and support knowledge transfer
Participate in after-hours/on-call support (24/7 as needed)

Must-Haves

7–10 years Windows Server administration experience
7–10 years Exchange (on-prem) administration
Strong experience with virtual infrastructure (Azure Local / Hypervisors)
3–5 years experience with Cloud technologies (Azure, O365, Teams)
Experience with backup solutions (Veeam, Azure)
Strong troubleshooting, prioritization, and communication skills
Experience working in a structured change control environment

Nice-to-Haves

Experience with Dell servers/blades and Azure Stack HCI
PowerShell scripting capability
Leadership/mentorship experience within technical teams
Experience in the legal industry

Pay: $55.00-$105,476.48 per hour

Ability to commute/relocate:

Toronto, ON M5J 2W4: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
