Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Lumber Sales Associate to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong customer service skills, a solid understanding of building materials and a passion for helping customers find the right products for their needs. This role involves assisting customers in the lumber, plumbing and electrical departments, providing product information, and ensuring a well-organized shopping environment.

Responsibilities

Assist customers with product selection and inquiries related to lumber and building materials.
Maintain an organized and visually appealing merchandising display in the store.
Provide exceptional customer service by answering questions, resolving issues, and upselling products when appropriate.
Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient store operations and maintain inventory levels.
Utilize math skills for pricing, measurements, and inventory management.
Communicate effectively with customers and team members, demonstrating strong phone etiquette when necessary.
Manage time efficiently to ensure all tasks are completed in a timely manner.

Qualifications

Two (2) or more years experience in the construction industry with a solid knowledge of building materials
Previous experience in retail sales and using POS systems
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
Familiarity with merchandising techniques and product displays
An intermediate level of math skills for handling transactions accurately
Excellent organizational skills to maintain a tidy work environment
Ability to manage time effectively while multitasking in a fast-paced environment
