Full job description

The opportunity

Metro Testing + Engineering is one of the busiest and largest Construction Materials Testing Lab is Western Canada.

We are looking for people who want to start a career as a Field Materials Testing Technician. This is a field position and the technician will travel to construction to assist our clients with testing their materials. If you love to be on the road and meeting people, it could be your next opportunity. .

No experience is required, and you will be trained by our experienced technicians and receive industry recognised certifications. you will be working at our Abbotsford Office.

Who we are

Metro Testing + Engineering is one of the largest materials testing companies in Western Canada with 11 offices and over 250 employees. We work with a lot of high-profile clients in their residential, commercial and infrastructure projects.

What you will be doing

Test concrete before the pour and ensure they meet the specifications and industry standards
Using Nuclear Densometer to measure the density and moisture content of soil, aggregate, or asphalt
Interpret the test results and to produce reports
Building relationship with site personnel to foster long term business collaboration
Travelling to job sites in east Fraser Valley

What you will get

Who we are looking for

Interested in career in the Construction Materials Testing industry
Valid driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle
Good command of the English language.
Ability to lift and control weights up to 23 kgs / 50 lbs
Experience as an General Labour/assistant is an asset
Graduate of a civil engineering diploma/certificate program is an asset
