WHO WE ARE
The Catholic Independent Schools of the Vancouver Archdiocese (the CISVA) operates 46 schools – 40 elementary and 6 high schools. Our schools are located throughout the Greater Vancouver Area, near the best sites and attractions that Vancouver and British Columbia has to offer. Our footprint extends over 250 kilometers from Powell River in the west to Chilliwack in the east.

ABOUT
St. James and St. Ann’s Elementary School is located in the western region of Abbotsford, just off the highway at the Mt. Lehman exit. Tucked up against Gardner Park and Fishtrap Creek, SJA is within walking distance to Fishtrap Creek Trail and Discovery Trail. It is close to shopping and transit, and biking and hiking trails abound. The famous Tulip Festival takes place in Abbotsford just past Whatcom Road, along Highway 1, and Abbotsford is also the home of the Vancouver Canucks farm team. Abbotsford is one of the most affordable communities in the Lower Mainland of BC.
SJA is a community of approximately 225 students from Grades K - 7. We are a small school, when compared to other schools in our area, allowing for a more personal experience for our students. SJA prides itself on faith formation of our students, and opportunities to deepen faith are plentiful. We are proud to say that we focus our efforts on educating our students academically, emotionally, physically, and spiritually, and are proud of the character of our SJA graduates. Go Thunder!

JOB DESCRIPTION
French Teacher (0.2 FTE)
Providing French language instruction to K-7 students.

Performing appropriate assessments and providing feedback to students and parents.

Working collaboratively and cohesively with staff for the benefit of the students

Working with the Learning Support department to support students with exceptionalities.

Implementing individualized education plans (IEPs).
Qualifications & Requirements:
Valid teaching certification in British Columbia.

Background in French language.

Strong classroom management and differentiated instruction skills.

Commitment to Catholic education and the values of faith-based learning.

Ability to collaborate with staff, students, and parents to foster a supportive learning environment.

A willingness to contribute to extra-curricular opportunities will be looked upon favourably.

On an on-going basis, we accept teacher applications for grade levels K to 12 for our Catholic schools throughout the Greater Vancouver Area and Powell River in beautiful British Columbia. All Catholics, non-Catholics, new education grads, and experienced teachers from across Canada are strongly encouraged to apply.
