Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Dispatch Assistant/Dispatcher to join our logistics team. This role is vital in coordinating transportation activities, managing freight shipments, and ensuring efficient communication across supply chain operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, proficiency with transportation management systems, and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in logistics, supply chain management, and freight operations to grow their career within a dynamic organization.

Duties

Coordinate and schedule freight shipments using transportation management systems such as SyteLine and AS400.
Manage shipping & receiving processes, ensuring timely dispatch and delivery of goods.
Utilize data entry skills to accurately record shipment details, tracking information, and inventory updates.
Communicate effectively with carriers, vendors, and internal teams via multi-line phone systems and professional phone etiquette.
Analyze shipping data to identify efficiency improvements and troubleshoot issues related to freight or supply chain disruptions.
Maintain organized records of dispatch activities, shipment statuses, and related documentation.
Assist with supply chain coordination for third-party logistics (3PL) providers and internal departments.
Support shipping & receiving operations by verifying freight documentation and ensuring compliance with company policies.

Qualifications

Proven experience with transportation management systems such as SyteLine or AS400 is highly preferred.
Strong knowledge of supply chain processes, freight operations, and shipping & receiving procedures.
Excellent data entry skills with high accuracy; proficiency in typing and using multi-line phone systems.
Analytical skills to interpret shipment data and identify operational improvements.
Effective communication skills with professional phone etiquette for interacting with carriers, vendors, and team members.
Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Familiarity with 3PL logistics operations is a plus.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential for success in this role.
