Full job description

If you already know your way around parts diagrams, are mechanically inclined, and enjoy helping customers solve problems, this could be a chance to take that experience into a bigger equipment world.

At Zuma, you’ll work with parts for boom lifts, scissor lifts, telehandlers, forklifts and other heavy equipment used by contractors and fleets across Canada and the U.S.

If your background is in automotive, truck, agricultural, forklift, rental, hydraulic or industrial parts, your experience can transfer well here. You’ll expand your technical knowledge, learn larger equipment, work with commercial customers, and have a real path toward account management and equipment sales.

THE ROLE

This is a technical inside-sales role.

Most customers are already contacting us because they need a part. Often, their machine is completely down and every hour matters.

Your job is to understand what they are working on, identify the correct part, quote it, help solve the full problem, and ask for the order.

Approximately:

80% warm inbound sales
20% account development, customer reactivation and outbound

You’ll work with mechanics, contractors, fleet managers, rental companies, shop foremen and business owners.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Answer inbound parts calls and emails
Use parts diagrams, exploded views and electronic catalogs to identify components
Quote parts and close orders
Follow up on open quotes instead of letting them disappear
Recommend related parts when they genuinely help the customer finish the repair
Learn your customers and the equipment in their fleets
Reconnect with past customers and develop accounts
Identify service, replacement and equipment opportunities
Keep customer notes and next steps organized in our CRM

A good parts salesperson here doesn’t simply read off a part number.

They think:

“If you’re replacing that cylinder, have you checked the pins and bushings?”

That curiosity is where long-term customer relationships start.

YOUR PARTS EXPERIENCE MATTERS

Previous parts experience is required.

You need to have worked in an environment where you have actually identified parts using diagrams, catalogs, schematics or similar technical resources.

You also need to be mechanically inclined enough to understand the basic relationship between components and what the customer is trying to repair.

Automotive parts
Heavy truck parts
Heavy equipment
Forklifts
Agricultural equipment
Equipment rental
Hydraulics
Industrial machinery
HVAC or mechanical equipment
Other technical parts environments

You do not need previous boom-lift or aerial-equipment experience. We can teach you our equipment, brands, systems and how to look up parts in our niche industry.

What we can’t start from zero on, is the basic parts foundation.

Parts does not have to be the ceiling.

The person who understands a customer’s fleet, communicates proactively, follows up well and isn’t afraid to make an outbound call naturally starts uncovering bigger opportunities.

INITIAL COMPENSATION

Expected Total Compensation: $65,000–$80,000+ per year, depending on experience and performance.

Compensation includes a base salary plus additional performance-based earnings.
