Full job description

The Warehouse/Yard Attendant will receive, load, and unload incoming and outgoing shipments. They will maintain a clear and safe workspace for employees & customers. At the direction of the Warehouse Manager, the Warehouse/Yard Attendant will help with moving and loading inventory and equipment. The ideal candidate is comfortable working on their feet, be sensitive to deadlines and have initiative to work with minimal supervision.

Duties and Responsibilities

Assist with loading and unloading trucks
Deliveries, pick up orders
Test & calibrate test gear
Organize and clean yard and other workspaces when required
Ensure workspace is free of safety hazards
Work as an active team member to complete team goals
Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision in a safe manner
Enjoy having different challenges and tasks everyday
Operate a variety of equipment e.g., forklifts, skid steers
Ensure that all required paperwork is completed, Bill of lading, FLHA etc.
Being a team player, helping other departments as needed
Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Valid class 5 driver’s license or higher (Required)
Class 3 or heavy trailer endorsement would be an asset
Shop, dealership, or similar working environment is an asset
Mechanical skills considered an asset
Valid Skid Steer Ticket and operating experience is preferred
Excellent organization and multi-tasking skills
Able to work independently
Physically able to stand, sit, move, squat, lift, walk and climb through the shift
Follow all health and safety procedures and regulations as required by the company and the province

Working Conditions

Comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs
Inside/outside temperatures fluctuate so appropriate layered outerwear should be considered when preparing for activity throughout the property, depending on the season
Travel may be necessary
Overtime and weekends may be required
