Full job description

Job Summary

Yale Daycare is seeking a passionate, caring, and dedicated Infant Toddler Educator (IT) / Early Childhood Educator (ECE) to provide high-quality care and education in a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment. The successful candidate will support children’s learning and development through responsive caregiving, meaningful interactions, and play-based learning while maintaining compliance with licensing regulations and Yale Daycare policies.

Key Responsibilities

Provide a safe, healthy, and nurturing environment for infants, toddlers, and preschool-aged children.
Plan and implement developmentally appropriate, play-based learning experiences that support children’s physical, cognitive, social, emotional, and language development.
Build trusting, respectful, and responsive relationships with children and their families.
Observe, assess, and document children’s growth and developmental milestones.
Support children’s individual needs while promoting independence, confidence, and positive behaviour.
Maintain accurate daily records, including attendance, meals, naps, toileting, and observations.
Follow all health, safety, sanitation, and licensing requirements.
Assist with feeding, diapering, toileting, dressing, and daily care routines while maintaining children’s dignity and comfort.
Maintain a clean, organized, and stimulating classroom environment.
Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure a positive and supportive team environment.
Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and ongoing training.
Communicate effectively with families regarding their child’s daily activities, progress, and well-being.
Report any concerns regarding children’s health, safety, or development according to daycare policies.

Qualifications

Valid Infant Toddler Educator (IT) and/or Early Childhood Educator (ECE) Certification.
Valid First Aid and CPR Certification.
Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening.
Immunization declaration record.
Strong understanding of child development and play-based learning.
Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.

Working Conditions

Full-time or Part-time position.

Monday to Friday.

Indoor and outdoor supervision of children.

May require lifting children and childcare equipment in accordance with workplace safety guidelines.
