SCHOOL SECRETARY

Green Dome Islamic School

Competition #PLSD-2266

This position is currently posted internally to CUPE employees for 5 working days until 4:30 p.m. August 18th, 2026 as per the CUPE Local 5829 Collective Agreement.

We are currently looking for a professional, skilled School Secretary who will be responsible for the day-to-day administrative and secretarial operations at Green Dome Islamic School in Northeast Calgary. The successful candidate will provide support to the principal, staff, students and visitors to the office by managing office tasks, providing courteous assistance via telephone, email and mail and coordinate internal and external communications.

This is a full-time (1.0 FTE) temporary position beginning August 26, 2026, with a regular work schedule of 35 hours per week. The successful candidate will demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel, with the ability to manage documents, spreadsheets, and databases effectively. Responsibilities will include copying, scanning, faxing, emailing, note-taking, and handling confidential information with discretion and professionalism.

The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal and communication skills and be able to interact with students and staff in a professional and meaningful manner. Expectations include an organized, professional, and confidential approach in person, over the telephone, and through written correspondence. Previous experience working in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment would be considered an asset.

Green Dome Islamic School is located in North East Calgary along Metis Trail and provides an Islamic learning environment that offers an accredited program of studies compliant with the Alberta Education curriculum. Green Dome is a Division I to III School that offers a wide variety of learning opportunities including regular classroom studies as well as foreign language and computer sciences.
