4th YEAR APPRENTICE & JOURNEYMAN CARPENTERS – Fort McMurray / Wood Buffalo Region - Here We GROW Again!

Heavy Metal Infrastructure (HMI), a division of Heavy Metal Equipment & Rentals, is hiring 4th Year Apprentice and Experienced Red Seal / Journeyman Commercial & Industrial Carpenters to join our growing team in the Fort McMurray / Wood Buffalo Region.

The Opportunity

Rotation: 20 days on / 10 days off
Hours: 11-hour shifts
Location: Fort McMurray / Wood Buffalo Region
Camp Accommodations: Provided
Flights & Transportation: Provided

Competitive hourly rate: $38–$44/hour

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Carpenter with Heavy Metal, you’ll play an important role in delivering safe, high-quality work across a variety of industrial projects.

Your day-to-day work may include:

Concrete formwork and framing
Doors, hardware, and millwork installation
Interior and exterior finishing work
Reading and interpreting blueprints
Maintaining clean and organized worksites
Completing hazard assessments and following safe work practices
Working collaboratively with crews, supervisors, and clients

We’re looking for people who are:

What We’re Looking For

4th Year Apprentice / Red Seal / Journeyman Carpenter certification
Experience with concrete forming, framing, doors, and hardware
Ability to read blueprints and construction drawings
Strong understanding of carpentry methods and construction practices
Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with tools and equipment
Experience operating equipment is considered an asset
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Commitment to maintaining a strong safety culture

Hiring Requirements

As part of the hiring process, successful candidates will be required to:

Provide a valid Class 5 Driver’s License and clean Driver’s Abstract
Complete a criminal record check
Complete drug & alcohol testing
Complete a position-related fitness evaluation
Provide applicable certifications and training records
