Position Summary
MRO Electronic Supply Ltd. is seeking an experienced Electro Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to support manufacturing equipment, automation systems, injection molding, overmolding operations, and production equipment utilized in the manufacturing of custom cable assemblies, wire harnesses, overmolded interconnect systems, and electronic assemblies supporting commercial, industrial, aerospace, and defense industries.
This role is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, optimizing, and maintaining manufacturing equipment and automation systems while supporting production uptime, process reliability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
The ideal candidate combines strong electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, controls, and automation expertise with hands-on manufacturing experience.
Key Responsibilities Equipment Troubleshooting & Production Support
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, servo, and automation related equipment failures
- Support production teams during equipment breakdowns, startup activities, changeovers, and troubleshooting situations
- Respond rapidly to production interruptions to minimize downtime and production impact
- Support continuous production of custom cable assemblies, wire harnesses, molded assemblies, and electronic products
- Perform troubleshooting activities across manufacturing, molding, automation, and support equipment
Injection Molding & Overmolding Support
- Troubleshoot injection molding and overmolding process defects including quality concerns, inconsistent molding, dimensional issues, voids, flash, short shots, and process instability
- Optimize machine parameters, cycle times, temperatures, pressures, curing profiles, and process settings
- Support production teams during mold changeovers and process setup activities
- Assist with new mold trials, process validation activities, and manufacturing improvements
- Support continuous improvement initiatives relating to molding throughput, scrap reduction, and process consistency
Mold, Tooling & Process Support
- Troubleshoot mold, fixture, tooling, insert, and setup related issues
- Support mold installation, maintenance, alignment, and setup activities
- Identify tooling wear, cooling issues, alignment concerns, or mechanical failures impacting production quality
- Coordinate maintenance activities relating to molds, tooling systems, fixtures, and production equipment
Automation, Controls & Robotics
- Troubleshoot PLC controlled equipment including systems utilizing Allen Bradley, Siemens, or equivalent controls platforms
- Diagnose faults using HMI systems, alarms, controls logic, sensors, and machine interfaces
- Support automated manufacturing equipment including robotic handling systems, conveyors, sensors, actuators, and automation devices
- Support machine integration projects, automation improvements, and equipment upgrades where required
- Assist with commissioning and startup activities for new equipment and automation systems
Preventive Maintenance & Reliability
- Develop and maintain preventive maintenance programs supporting production equipment reliability
- Perform planned maintenance activities on manufacturing equipment, molding systems, robotics, and automation equipment
- Maintain maintenance records, spare parts inventories, and equipment history documentation
- Recommend predictive maintenance strategies to reduce recurring failures and improve equipment performance
Root Cause Analysis & Continuous Improvement
- Perform root cause investigations relating to recurring equipment failures, production interruptions, scrap generation, and process instability
- Develop corrective actions and permanent solutions to recurring manufacturing problems
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on throughput, reliability, quality, and operational efficiency
- Participate in manufacturing improvement projects supporting productivity and equipment optimization
Safety, Quality & Compliance
- Follow company safety procedures, lockout/tagout requirements, and safe work practices
- Support manufacturing activities within AS9100, ISO 9001, Controlled Goods, and customer compliance requirements
- Support equipment validation, process documentation, and change management activities where required
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe working environments
QualificationsEducation
- Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electronics Engineering Technology, or related discipline
Experience
- Experience supporting manufacturing equipment within industrial, electronics, plastics, cable assembly, molding, or automation environments
- Experience with injection molding or overmolding equipment strongly preferred
- Experience supporting industrial automation systems, controls, and production equipment preferred
- Experience within aerospace, electronics manufacturing, wire harness, or custom manufacturing environments considered an asset
Technical Skills
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills
- Electrical troubleshooting experience

Pay: $60,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
