We are currently seeking a Finance Co-op Student to join our team for a 4, 8, or 12 month term.
Role Overview
As a Financial Analyst Co-op Student, you will play an important role in supporting the financial management of our construction projects. You will work closely with project teams and the finance department to help ensure budgets, reporting, and cost tracking are accurate, timely, and aligned with project goals.
This is a hands-on opportunity to gain exposure to construction finance, job costing, and project-based accounting within a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Project Financial Support
- Partner with project teams to support construction budgeting, forecasting, and cost tracking throughout the project lifecycle
- Monitor project costs against budgets and identify variances early
- Support cash flow forecasting for active construction projects
Job Costing & Reporting
- Maintain detailed and accurate job cost records, ensuring proper allocation across projects
- Prepare and maintain financial reports for internal stakeholders
- Support ad hoc reporting, analysis, and management requests
Construction Loan & Draw Support
- Assist with the full lifecycle of construction loan management, including draw tracking and documentation
- Help ensure timely and accurate disbursement processes
Data Integrity & Systems Support
- Maintain and update financial databases and systems
- Ensure accuracy and consistency of financial data across reporting tools
- Support improvements to tracking tools, spreadsheets, and reporting processes
Collaboration & Administration
- Work closely with project coordinators to gather financial documentation and support project flow
- Respond to internal financial inquiries in a timely and professional manner
- Assist in preparation of presentations and summaries for management review
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and relevant regulations
What You Bring
- Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (intermediate required; advanced considered an asset)
- High attention to detail and strong commitment to accuracy
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Eagerness to learn and take initiative in a professional setting
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Exposure to accounting software or ERP systems considered an asset
- Interest in construction or real estate considered an asset
- Proactive, curious, and solution-oriented mindset
