Full job description

Florist / Floral Assistant / Administrative Sales Support

We are looking for a fast, organized, responsible, and experienced person to join our busy flower shop.

Main Duties

Answer multiple phone lines and take floral orders.
Speak and write clear, fluent English.
Help customers choose flowers and arrangements.
Upsell deluxe, premium, and add-on products.
Enter orders quickly and accurately.
Check, organize, and respond to multiple email accounts throughout the shift.
Monitor online orders, pending orders, and customer requests.
Confirm delivery addresses, card messages, phone numbers, and special instructions.
Organize deliveries and communicate with florists, drivers, and other staff.
Follow up on incomplete, delayed, or problem orders.
Resolve customer, order, and delivery issues without leaving them for another employee.
Assist with floral work and general store duties.
Complete administrative work in QuickBooks, including deposits, invoices, settlements, charges, and corrections.
Work from daily checklists and update them throughout the shift.

Shift Responsibilities

Complete all assigned work before leaving.
Do not leave orders, emails, deliveries, or customer issues unattended.
Clearly document and properly hand over any pending work.
Leave the front desk and work area clean, organized, and ready for the next shift.
Provide the next employee with clear information about pending orders, deliveries, emails, and customer follow-ups.
Complete and review all checklists before the end of the shift.

Requirements

Minimum typing speed of 65 WPM.
Strong English speaking and writing skills.
Able to manage multiple phone lines, emails, customers, and orders at the same time.
Able to take accurate orders and communicate confidently with customers.
Strong problem-solving skills.
Able to remain calm and productive under pressure.
Highly organized and able to follow checklists.
Strong attention to detail.
Fast and accurate data-entry skills.
Strong sales and upselling ability.
Responsible, reliable, punctual, and able to complete assigned work.
Able to prioritize urgent orders and meet delivery deadlines.
Previous floral, retail, telephone sales, customer-service, or administrative experience preferred.
Strong QuickBooks experience is preferred.

Schedule and Availability

Shifts may start as early as 7:00 a.m.
Shifts may continue until closing at 8:30 p.m.
Applicants must have flexible availability within these hours.
Weekend availability is required.
Availability during major floral holidays is required.
This is a high-pressure position, especially during busy seasons and holidays.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00-$21.70 per hour
