Oilfield Service Operator – Class 3/Q Endorsement
Wax Busters is a small, locally operated oil well-servicing company since 2006 is based out of Calgary,
Alberta. We specialize in paraffin wax mitigation and oil well optimization, using steam and chemical
treatments to help our customers maintain production and optimize their wells.
We are looking for a reliable, mechanically inclined individual to join our team.
The Opportunity
This is a hands-on oilfield position involving the operation of a steam and chemical service truck and providing
service to oil wells throughout the surrounding operating areas. Previous oilfield experience is not required. We
are willing to train the right candidate.
We are looking for someone with strong mechanical aptitude, a good work ethic, and the willingness to learn.
Candidates with backgrounds in heavy equipment, trucking, agriculture, mechanics, industrial work, or other
hands-on mechanical trades are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
- Operate steam and chemical service equipment safely and efficiently
- Perform paraffin wax mitigation and oil well optimization services
- Drive and operate company service trucks
- Hook up and operate hoses, valves, pumps, and related equipment
- Monitor equipment and well conditions while servicing
- Perform routine equipment inspections and basic maintenance
- Troubleshoot mechanical and equipment issues
- Maintain accurate service records and paperwork
- Communicate professionally with customers and lease operators
- Follow all company, customer, and safety procedures
- Maintain a clean and organized truck and work area
- Work independently while representing Wax Busters professionally
Qualifications Required:
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Reliable and dependable work ethic
- Willingness to work long hours when required
- Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays when required
- Ability to work independently and make good decisions in the field
- Valid driver’s licence with Q endorsement
- Ability to provide a current driver’s abstract
- Safety-conscious attitude
- Must be based in Calgary or the surrounding area
Assets:
- Class 3 driver’s licence with Q endorsement
- 5+ years driving commercial vehicles
- Previous oilfield experience
- Experience operating trucks, pumps, steam equipment, or heavy equipment
- Mechanical, industrial, agricultural, or equipment experience
- Previous well servicing experience
Training & Compensation
We are willing to train the right person and provide the necessary training to become proficient in our
equipment and services.
- $28–$30/hour during training, depending on experience
- $35/hour after successful completion of training
- Overtime opportunities

What We’re Looking For
We are looking for more than someone who can simply drive a truck. The ideal candidate is mechanically
minded, hardworking, dependable, and willing to get their hands dirty.
This position can involve long days and working evenings, weekends, and holidays when customer demands
require it. Flexibility and reliability are important.
Once fully trained and able to operate independently, the position can move to a 10-days-on / 4-days-off
schedule, providing a consistent rotation while still requiring flexibility when on call.
