Job Overview
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assisting with the planting / transplanting of trees.
- Watering and fertilizing transplanted trees during spring production.
- Watering and fertilizing newly harvested stock located in field holding areas.
- Mowing grass with tractor and three point hitch mower
- Straightening and staking trees.
- Operating various tractors, implements and towing trailer.
- Assisting with the fall harvesting.
- Assisting with inventory control.
- Assisting with winter pruning program.
- Contributing to and ensuring safety program requirements are followed.
Skills and Knowledge
Should have a good steady work ethic with arborist experience.
- Must have a valid Class #5 Drivers license.
- Must be committed to work in a safe-work environment.
- Must have a strong knowledge about trees and pests.
- Must have the ability to work well with others, and should be goal orientated.
- Must have the ability to operate tractors, vehicles, pumps and skidsteers.
- Must have the ability to work well with others.
- Must be self-motivated and goal oriented.
- A knowledge of the Spanish language is an asset but not a requirement.
Physical Requirements
Must be physically fit and able to work outside during inclement weather.
This individual reports directly to the field production manager, while indirectly reporting to the general manager. This individual will go through 3 month probation period to ensure they are a good fit for our company and we are a good fit for them and their lifestyle. This position is full time, year round covering a maternity leave with the potential of a continued position.
Compensation
- Starting wage is $20.00-24.00 depending on experience.
- Health benefits begin after one year of service.
- Matching RRSP contributions after one year of service.
Pay: $20.00-$24.00 per hour
Expected hours: 44.0 – 48.0 per week
