Full job description

Position Scope:

We are seeking a Recruitment Coordinator to support our Human Resources team by focusing on supporting the staff recruitment requirements of NACG’s companies. The succsessful candidate in this position will be an all-star in filling multiple site vacancies by providing recruitment support to the business, assisting primarily with union craft recruitment activities and responding to general human-resources related inquiries. Responsibilities:

What You'll Be Doing

Participate in the development and implementation of innovative recruitment strategies.
Source qualified candidates to fill current and upcoming openings by determining best method(s) for recruiting.
Provide qualified candidate pool by sourcing, identifying and recruiting candidates to fill current and upcoming trade job openings.
Coordinate the selection and hiring process, including appropriate paperwork, from application to hire.
Develop an understanding of current and future manpower needs, research best practices and emerging trends and anticipate and react to shortages.
When required, design and place employment advertisements, post jobs, follow-up on employee referrals, research organizations or retain search firms as appropriate.
Conduct university and college campus, trade school or other targeted job fairs to develop candidate pool.
Review and evaluate candidates’ work history, education, training and other qualifications to meet the Company’s qualifications. Identify qualified candidates and make recommendations to hiring manager by screening resumes, interviewing, checking references and ranking candidates.
Ensure policies, guidelines and practices are followed and communicated to candidates and hiring managers as is appropriate.
Explain job duties/responsibilities, compensation and benefit programs, work schedule or special conditions, career and advancement opportunities and related information.
Extend employment offers to successful candidates.
Set-up onboarding of new hires.
Represent the company at talent management or human resources-related events.
Other ad-hoc responsibilities which provide human resources support to the business.

Qualifications:

What Makes You the ONE

University Degree in human resources or College Diploma in human resources-related field preferred.
One to two years’ experience related to recruitment and selection of similar positions.
Experience with an Applicant Tracking System.
Industry experience considered an asset.
Thorough knowledge of recruitment and selection practices and theories.
Knowledge of human behavior and performance; individual differences in ability, personality, learning and motivation.
Ability to interact with all levels of employees and managers.
Service and results-oriented; proactive approach to recruiting and projects.
Intermediate skill with Microsoft Office suite.

Summary:

If you are chosen to move forward in our hiring process for our Acheson Head Office, you will be scheduled to undergo and successfully pass the following pre-employment testing:
