The Rigger - Survey and inspection Team is responsible for conducting aerial surveys using a drone to inspect telecommunication structures. This role works closely with the Quality Control Manager and reports any anomalies observed in the field. The incumbent must comply with common installation standards and guidelines for aerial structure inspections.

Work Schedule

Must be available to travel from Monday to Friday (with the possibility of 10 consecutive days of work).

Work Location

Travel to job sites in Alberta.

Responsibilities

On-Site Technical Surveys

Conduct detailed surveys of existing installations (antennas, radios, cabling, mounts).

Measure and document antenna heights, azimuths, and mechanical tilts.

Identify antenna types, mounts, RF equipment, and fiber equipment.

Photograph and document the condition of installations.

Produce accurate reports for engineering and design teams.

Tower-Top Inspection

Climb to the top of structures to inspect:

Antennas and mounts

Radios (RRU/RRH)

RF cables and fiber

Verify mechanical condition (fastenings, corrosion, stability).

Confirm compliance with engineering drawings.

Document any deviations or safety concerns.

Compliance and Safety

Ensure installations comply with OHS standards and operator requirements.

Identify potential risks.

Ensure previous work was completed according to industry best practices.

Work Environment

Cellular towers and elevated structures

Rooftops

Urban and rural sites

Working at heights

Frequent outdoor work

Regular travel between different sites

Hiring Requirements

Possess a valid Class 5 driver’s license (or equivalent).
Comfortable working at heights, including vertical and horizontal movement on steel or wood structures.
Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety on Construction Sites (ASP Construction).
Proficiency with IT equipment and data processing software.
Willingness to travel frequently and work outside the home region from Monday to Friday.
Asset: Drone pilot certification.

Responsabilités

Relevés techniques sur site

Effectuer des relevés détaillés des installations existantes (antennes, radios, câblage, supports).
Mesurer et documenter les hauteurs d'Antenne, azimuts, inclinaisons mécaniques.
Identifier les types d’antennes, supports, équipements RF et fibre.
Photographier et documenter l’état des installations.
Produire des rapports précis pour l’ingénierie et la conception

Inspection au sommet des pylônes

Monter au sommet des structures pour inspecter :
- Antennes et supports
- Radios (RRU/RRH)
- Câbles RF et fibres
Vérifier l’état mécanique (fixations, corrosion, stabilité).
Confirmer le respect des plans d’ingénierie.
Documenter toute déviation ou problème de sécurité.

Conformité et sécurité

Vérifier que les installations respectent les normes SST et les standards de l’opérateur.
Identifier les risques potentiels.
S’assurer que les travaux antérieurs ont été réalisés selon les règles de l’art.

Prérequis d'embauche

Détenir le cours Santé et sécurité générale sur les chantiers de construction;
Détenir un permis de conduire valide de classe 5.
Aisance à travailler en hauteur, incluant des déplacements verticaux et horizontaux sur des structures en acier ou en bois.
Maîtrise des équipements informatiques et des logiciels de traitement de données.
Disponibilité à voyager fréquemment et à travailler à l’extérieur de la région de résidence du lundi au vendredi.
Atout: Certification de pilote de drone.
