Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly reliable, positive and motivated Dishwasher/Kitchen Helper to support our busy bakery and cafe. This role is essential in maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen operation. The ideal candidate will have experience with dishwashing, food preparation, and general kitchen duties to ensure smooth daily operations and uphold food safety standards. Tips and shift meals are Included as well as a potential end-of-year bonus for hard work done well.

Responsibilities

Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment following proper food safety protocols
Assist with basic meal preparation and food handling tasks as directed by kitchen staff
Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area, including counters, floors, and storage spaces
Support food service staff with serving meals and replenishing supplies during service hours
Organize and store clean dishes and kitchen tools appropriately
Follow all safety guidelines to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment
Help with inventory management by notifying staff of supplies that need restocking

Qualifications

Prior experience in a restaurant or food service environment is preferred but not required
Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures is a plus
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
Basic cooking skills or familiarity with meal preparation is advantageous
Strong teamwork skills and a positive attitude are essential
Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting or moving items as needed
