Hartley Cabinet Co. is seeking a Cabinet Design & Project Coordinator to join our growing team. We are looking for someone who is passionate about custom cabinetry, thoughtful design, and delivering an exceptional client experience from initial consultation through installation.
This role combines design, project coordination, client communication, and site support. The successful candidate will work closely with clients, suppliers, production teams, and installers to ensure projects are executed smoothly, on time, and to the highest standards.
Responsibilities
- Meet with clients to understand their needs, preferences, space requirements, and budget.
- Design custom cabinetry, kitchens, bathrooms, and other millwork solutions that are both functional and visually appealing.
- Create detailed drawings, layouts, and presentations using design software such as SketchUp, Chief Architect, or similar programs.
- Produce accurate measurements and specifications for cabinetry and millwork projects.
- Select materials, finishes, and hardware that align with project goals and client expectations.
- Present design concepts and revisions to clients throughout the design process.
- Coordinate project details with management, suppliers, production teams, installers, and contractors.
- Conduct site visits to obtain measurements, verify project details, and provide installation support as required.
- Monitor project timelines and assist in keeping projects on schedule and within budget.
- Troubleshoot design, production, or installation challenges and work collaboratively to find solutions.
- Provide exceptional customer service and maintain strong client relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
- Stay current with industry trends, products, materials, and best practices.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in cabinetry design, millwork design, or a related field.
- Proficiency with design software such as SketchUp, Chief Architect, AutoCAD, 2020 Design, or similar programs.
- Experience creating detailed design drawings and visual presentations.
- Strong understanding of cabinetry construction, materials, finishes, and installation methods.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Experience in construction or residential renovations is considered an asset.
- Experience creating 3D renderings or virtual walkthroughs is considered an asset.
