Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Team Lead Camp Counsellor to oversee and support our group of campers during the summer camp season. This leadership role involves guiding children through engaging activities, ensuring their safety, and fostering a positive, inclusive environment. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children with ASD, strong understanding of ABA principals, possess strong leadership skills, and be passionate about creating memorable camp experiences. Prior experience in tutoring, teaching, or early childhood education is highly valued. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact while developing leadership and mentorship skills in a dynamic outdoor setting.

Responsibilities

Lead and supervise a group of campers, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
Plan, organize, and facilitate engaging activities that promote learning, teamwork, and fun
Serve as a role model and mentor for campers, encouraging positive behavior and social development
Assist with the preparation and setup of camp activities and materials
Collaborate with fellow staff members to create a cohesive and supportive camp environment
Communicate effectively with parents or guardians regarding camper progress or concerns (as needed)
Support the overall management of camp operations and ensure adherence to safety protocols

Skills

Experience in ABA, teaching, or early childhood education is required
Experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder and Developmental Disabilities is required
Proven ability to work effectively with children of diverse backgrounds and ages
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide young campers
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Creative problem-solving abilities and adaptability in a dynamic outdoor setting
Passion for working with children and creating positive camp experiences
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

Pay: $25.00-$28.00 per hour

Work Location: In person
