Job Summary:
We currently have an open position for a Production Lead Hand to join our team on the afternoon shift (4:00 pm – 1:00 am). This role is responsible for the efficient and timely processing of customer requests for production of products according to established procedures, following and enforcing all safety protocols and workplace policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with coaching and training staff by directing daily activities of the production team
- Operate RF scanners, inventory management programs and production equipment efficiently
- Address employee performance concerns and escalate issues when necessary
- Ensure inventory accuracy by conducting random inventory audits
- Maintain a clean and organized workplace through daily housekeeping practices
- Identify and report problems or concerns relating to production equipment
- Ensure that staff tasks are completed accurately and within timely manner
- Support staff in understanding their roles in meeting quality and productivity targets
- Identify and resolve production issues, escalating and communicating concerns to management as needed
- Ensure all required documentation and checks are completed throughout the shift
- Ensure compliance with all SOPs
- Ensure health & safety policies are adhered to and maintain a safe working environment
- Complete and submit shift production reports and audits to management
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Minimum 2-3 years leadership experience within a manufacturing/production environment is required
- Minimum 1 year counterbalance forklift experience required
- Knowledge of SDS, chemical handling procedures, work instructions and quality assurance
- Ability to understand, run and troubleshoot the equipment
- Strong leadership skills
- Ability to follow instructions from manager
- Able to work in a team environment that is constantly working towards improving processes and procedures
- Able to identify hazards and work towards rectifying them
- Knows how to work safely
- Demonstrate good organizational skills
- TDG training is an asset
Working Conditions:
- Able to lift at least 50lbs
- Manual dexterity required to work on or under tankers
- Overtime as required
- Must be able to work both inside the warehouse and/or outside year round
