Job Description

A private household in Canmore, Alberta is seeking a reliable and compassionate Home Support Worker to provide full-time care and support for a person with disability within the home.

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with the daily care, supervision, and well-being of a household member requiring ongoing support.

Wage: $22/hour

Hours: 35-40 hours per week, full-time, permanent

Schedule: Early morning, flexible hours

Key Responsibilities

Provide personal care, and supervision for safety as required
Support with daily living skills, hygiene, laundry, staying on schedule
Assist with daily routines and activities
Support client through transitions and schedule changes and ensure a safe home environment
Meal preparation support, making healthy choices
Perform light housekeeping related to care
Support development of life skills - food prep, housekeeping and organizational skills
Monitor well-being and report any changes
Provide companionship and emotional support
Maintain a consistent and structured care routine
Occasional pet care

Requirements

At least 2 years experience supporting persons with special needs
Ability to follow care instructions and maintain consistency
Strong sense of responsibility and reliability
Good time management, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently within a private household
Availability for early morning shifts, with flexible scheduling as needed.

Position requires physical presence and direct care
Full-time availability is required
Consistency and reliability are essential
