Prep Cook / Baker – The Corner Market (Barrie, ON)

Job Type: Full-time / Part-time
Location: Barrie, ON
Pay: $17.60–$20/hour (based on experience)

The Corner Market is a local, community-focused shop in Barrie offering fresh, high-quality baked goods and prepared foods. We take pride in using quality ingredients and creating a welcoming environment for our customers.

Position Overview

We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Prep Cook / Baker to join our team. This role involves preparing ingredients, baking products, and maintaining a clean, organized kitchen. The ideal candidate is passionate about food, works well in a fast-paced environment, and enjoys being part of a team.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare ingredients for daily recipes (chopping, measuring, mixing, etc.)
Bake a variety of goods (bread, muffins, cookies, and other items)
Follow recipes and production schedules accurately
Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen and workstations
Ensure food safety and sanitation standards are met
Assist with inventory, restocking, and labeling
Work collaboratively with team members to meet daily production goals

Qualifications

Previous kitchen or baking experience is an asset (but willing to train the right candidate)
Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed
Strong attention to detail and time management skills
Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 25 lbs
Positive attitude and strong work ethic
