Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to support our culinary team in delivering high-quality food service. This role is essential for maintaining smooth kitchen operations, assisting with meal preparation, and ensuring food safety standards are met. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food industry work, excellent attention to detail, and a strong commitment to cleanliness and safety.

Responsibilities

Assist with food preparation and cooking tasks as directed by the kitchen staff
Support meal assembly and plating to ensure timely service
Handle food safely and hygienically, following proper food handling procedures
Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas
Serve food to customers or staff in a courteous and efficient manner
Help with inventory management and restocking supplies as needed
Follow all health and safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment
Support the team during busy service hours, ensuring smooth operations

Experience

Previous experience in food service, restaurant, or kitchen environments is preferred but not required
Familiarity with food preparation, cooking, and meal assembly is advantageous
Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling techniques is desirable
Experience working in the food industry or in a restaurant setting will be considered a plus
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety
