Full job description

A residential care organization is seeking a House Manager to oversee day-to-day operations within a licensed setting supporting individuals with complex developmental and behavioural needs. This leadership role is ideal for an experienced professional who brings strong operational oversight, team development skills, and a commitment to person-centred support.

About the Role

The House Manager is responsible for the safe, effective, and compliant delivery of residential services. Working in partnership with clinical supports and frontline leadership, this role ensures high standards of care, staff performance, and regulatory compliance while fostering a positive and supportive home environment for residents.

Key Responsibilities

Provide leadership for a residential program, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations and adherence to organizational policies and applicable regulations
Supervise, coach, and support staff through ongoing feedback, performance management, and formal evaluations
Support the development and monitoring of individualized support plans and resident goals
Maintain effective communication with families, external service providers, and internal stakeholders
Oversee staff scheduling, time approvals, and attendance tracking to support payroll accuracy
Monitor operational expenses, including petty cash, ensuring appropriate controls and documentation
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and emergency procedures, including proper documentation practices
Coordinate and track staff training, ensuring completion of required certifications
Respond to incidents, workplace injuries, and crisis situations, including follow-up and reporting
Participate in an on-call rotation, which may include evenings and weekends
Ensure documentation meets internal and regulatory standards
Facilitate regular team meetings to promote consistency, communication, and alignment

Qualifications & Experience

Post-secondary education in a related field (e.g., Social Services, Child and Youth Care, Psychology, Sociology, or similar)
Minimum three (3) years of supervisory experience in a residential or community-based care setting
Experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, and/or mental health needs
Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills
Proficiency with computers and documentation systems
Knowledge of relevant legislation and quality standards within residential care
