Working as part of a collaborative team, and reporting to the Clinical Supervisor, the Behaviour Therapist RBA works closely with the Program Manager to implement individualized programming for clients. Blossom Group supports our Behaviour Therapists with paid CEU's.
Core Responsibilities
· Supervise, monitor, train and assist in the completion/review/maintenance/compliance and ethical practice of all Behaviour Support plans and Behavioural Interventions. This would include providing feedback and approval for the written documents, supervising the implementation, tracking completion and reviewal, ensuring family reviewal every 6 months and completing reviewal board 6-month reviewal is completed.
· Supervise, monitor, train and assist in the completion/review/maintenance/compliance and ethical practice of all skill acquisition programming and assessments. This would include monitoring and tracking that all clients have completed and bi-annual up to date assessments, ensuring team has required materials, providing feedback and training on associates written programs, ensuring the correct processes on tracking, supervising, training, and amendments are completed as needed for client programming, etc.
· Supervise, monitor, train and assist in the completion/review/maintenance of all PRN and seizure protocols for all clients. This would include approving new or changes to the protocols, auditing to ensure compliance to Ministry and QAM guidelines, completing the 6-month reviewal process, and maintaining a tracking system for the protocols, etc.
· Completing intake suitability process and collaborating with appropriate stakeholders to ensure all necessary steps for intake are completed. Which would include communicating/collaborating with stakeholders, completing a suitability assessment, observations of referrals, transition meetings, coordinating to ensure required documents/medical requirements/support/finances are all in place and completed.
· Behaviour Associate supervision, where applicable, including providing continued learning and training to the team and booking CEU courses for the team to complete, as well as running weekly team meetings/training.
· Budgeting and ordering for clinical team including completing Special Care Rates as necessary.
· Chair and appropriately document clinical meetings, Plan of Cares and Individual Support Plan a
· Participating in QAM/Ministry Compliance Inspections annually
· Draft and review policies as needed.
· Collaboration with clinical director for License renewal for children’s licensed locations.
· Administration duties and oversite for SOR-RL (Online reporting system) and SOR submission and compliance.
· Collaborate with Safe management to book consults and ensure proper documentation is provided to stakeholders surrounding the need and process.
· Participate in the discharge of clients by collaborating internally and externally with appropriate stakeholders on the need and process for discharge. As well as complete discharge letters and reports within Ministry timelines.
Qualifications and Requirements
· Master’s degree in ABA/Behavioural Science or related discipline
· 2+ years of supervisory/management experience in a clinical setting
· Certified Registered Behaviour Therapist.
· Direct clinical experience implementing Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) preferred
· Thorough knowledge of Clinical process involving Functional Behaviour Assessments, Functional Analysis, Behaviour Support Plans/Behavioural Interventions, and summarizing with a demonstrated proficiency with computers and data.
· Demonstrated knowledge of mental health issues, dual diagnosis and pervasive developmental disorder gained through experience working with clients in a hospital, residential, education or community setting. Knowledge of the Mental Health Act and other relevant legislation
· Proven excellent interpersonal skills and effective oral/written communication skills
· High energy and highly motivated, able to take initiative with creativity and flexibility
· Ability to work as a member of the team as well as being able to work independently
· Crisis response experience
· The ability to work various shifts when needed for training
· The ability to perform the physical aspects of the position, and to maintain good attendance
· Demonstrated adaptability, reliability, judgement, decision making, and stress tolerance.
