Currently, we are hiring for the following position:

Full-time Travelling Registered Early Childhood Educator

We are seeking a full-time Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) to join our team as a Travelling Educator providing coverage for vacationing staff, leave of absence, and any program requiring an educator. Hours and locations may vary from day to day based on operational needs; however, this is a full-time position offering a consistent schedule of 40 hours per week (8 hours per day).

Start Date: Immediately
End Date: September 20, 2027
Home Centre: Hewitt's Creek Child Care Centre - Barrie, ON
Hours of Work: 40 hours per week
Salary Range: $27.35-30.75 per hour (based on experience) plus applicable fundings (up to $4.00/hour)

** This is a contract position covering a maternity leave **

Successful candidate MUST:

Have a Valid Ontario Driver’s License and a reliable personal vehicle
Be available daily between 7am to 6pm daily (working 8 hours per day)
Be flexible and able to change daily plan and location
Be able to travel to all YPCE sites throughout the Region that they are hired for (Barrie and surrounding arers)
Be self-motivated and adaptable to the different routines unique to each Centre

Responsibilities and Duties

To plan and implement an age appropriate program indoors and outdoors meeting the requirements of “How Does Learning Happen?” and the 4 foundations
To create a professional and positive image for the Agency on a daily basis
To have a working knowledge of the Child Care and Early Years Act and be in compliance with the Policies and Procedures of the Agency
To work as a member of a team which includes other staff, parents, community and the Agency
To share in the care and housekeeping tasks of the Centre
To grow and improve in the knowledge and skills required for the job
To create an inclusive environment where each child and family is valued

Skills and Qualifications

Diploma in Early Childhood Education
Registered and in good standing with the College of ECEs
Experience working with children of all age groups
Recent Vulnerable Sector Check
A valid Standard First Aid/CPR Certificate
Up to date immunizations
Familiar with "How Does Learning Happen?" would be an asset
Strong programming and communications skills
Strong knowledge of child development
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Comfortable interacting with and supporting families and community members
Ability to actively participate in the outdoor program in inclement weather
Physically able to lift and/or assist with the moving of a child, the moving of supplies or equipment
