The Position

CNC Boring Mill Operator

We are seeking a candidate who has the following competencies;

This position is available for Afternoon Shift, Monday to Thursday, 4:00 pm to 2:30 am.

Job Description

Duties & Responsibilities

Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, sketches, and specifications.
Set up and operate CNC boring mill equipment to machine precision components.
Select and install appropriate cutting tools, boring bars, fixtures, and work-holding devices.
Load and verify CNC programs and make adjustments to machine offsets, tooling, speeds, and feeds as required.
Accurately position and secure large or heavy workpieces for machining.
Perform boring, drilling, milling, facing, and other machining operations as required.
Monitor machining operations and make adjustments to ensure quality and dimensional accuracy.
Use precision measuring instruments, including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and other inspection equipment.
Inspect machined components to ensure they meet specified dimensions, tolerances, and quality standards.
Identify and troubleshoot machining, tooling, programming, and equipment issues.
Make minor program edits and adjustments as required to maintain quality and production requirements.
Complete inspection records, production documentation, and reports accurately.
Maintain CNC boring mill equipment, tooling, and work areas in a clean, organized, and safe condition.
Safely operate overhead cranes and lift trucks to move and position materials as required.
Work closely with engineering and production teams to ensure project requirements are understood and met.
Follow all required safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment at all times.
Ensure accuracy and completion of assigned tasks and projects.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Previous experience operating CNC boring mills or similar CNC machining equipment is required.
Completion of a CNC Machining, General Machinist, or related technical program is an asset.
Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
Knowledge of CNC machine setup, tooling, offsets, speeds, feeds, and machining processes.
Experience machining large or heavy components is an asset.
Strong knowledge and use of precision measuring tools and inspection equipment.
Good understanding of dimensions, tolerances, and quality requirements.
Ability to troubleshoot machining, tooling, and equipment issues.
Mechanical aptitude and strong problem-solving skills.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to safely lift and handle materials as required.
Experience operating an overhead crane and lift truck is an asset.
High-energy, motivated individual with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent.

Wage will be based on experience/skill level.

Screening will start September 8th, 2026

Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
