Inventure Engineering & Machinery Inc. is a Barrie-based custom fabrication and machinery shop. We design, build, and repair custom machinery and metal components for a range of industrial clients. We're growing our team and looking for skilled, reliable tradespeople who take pride in their work.
Position Overview
We are hiring experienced Welder-Fitters to join our shop. In this role, you will interpret drawings and specifications, fit and weld components using a variety of techniques and materials, and help fabricate and repair custom metal parts and products to a high standard of quality and precision.
Responsibilities
- Interpret welding process specifications
- Operate manual, semi-automatic, and fully automated welding equipment
- Read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings, specifications, manuals, and processes
- Examine welds and ensure they meet required standards and specifications
- Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment
- Operate brakes, shears, and other metal shaping, straightening, and bending machines
- Fit, braze, and torch-straighten metal
- Operate oxygen arc cutting equipment (arc-air/AOC)
- Determine the weldability of materials
- Operate hoisting and lifting equipment
- Operate previously set-up welding machines to fabricate or repair metal parts and products
Experience & Specialization

Welding Techniques:
- Shielded metal arc welding (SMAW)
- Gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW/TIG)

- Flux core arc welding (FCAW)
- Multipass welding

Requirements
- Basic security clearance
- Own transportation required
- Own tools required, including:
- Standard hand tools
- Steel-toed safety boots
- Welding helmet
