Job Overview

Join our dynamic sports program as a Coach/Assistant specializing in Basketball and Volleyball! This energetic role offers an exciting opportunity to inspire and develop athletes of all skill levels while fostering a positive, team-oriented environment. As a vital member of our coaching staff, you will lead engaging practices, support game-day strategies, and promote teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal growth. This paid position is perfect for passionate individuals eager to make a meaningful impact through sports education and mentorship.

Responsibilities

Assist in planning and executing engaging training sessions for basketball and volleyball teams, focusing on skill development, teamwork, and game tactics
Support head coaches in preparing for competitions, including strategy discussions and game-day logistics
Foster a safe, inclusive environment that encourages participation and enjoyment for athletes of all ages and abilities
Provide guidance on proper techniques, rules, and sportsmanship to promote fair play and respect among players
Help monitor athlete progress through observation, feedback, and record-keeping to support continuous improvement
Assist with organizing equipment, maintaining facilities, and ensuring safety protocols are followed during practices and games
Promote positive team culture by encouraging leadership, discipline, and enthusiasm among athletes

Requirements

Demonstrated experience or strong interest in teaching sports such as basketball and volleyball
Knowledge of basic coaching principles, game rules, and safety procedures for both sports
Ability to communicate effectively with athletes, parents, and fellow staff members in a lively and motivating manner
Willingness to learn new skills related to coaching techniques and sports education
Prior experience or interest in swimming is a plus but not mandatory
Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, or during tournaments as needed
A positive attitude with a passion for mentoring youth through sports activities
