Full job description

FOTILE is looking for an experienced and engaging Cooking Demo Chef / Baker to join us at IDS Vancouver for a 3-day live cooking demonstration using our FOTILE FreshBake Range.

This role is ideal for someone who has a background in both baking and general cooking, enjoys interacting with people, and is comfortable cooking in front of an audience.

Culinary students, baking students, and recent graduates are also welcome to apply.

Professional chef experience is an asset, but we are also open to candidates who have strong practical cooking skills and are confident learning and presenting.

Location: Vancouver Convention Centre
Duration: 3 days
Schedule: 2 live cooking demonstrations per day

Key Responsibilities

Conduct live cooking and baking demonstrations using the FOTILE FreshBake Range
Prepare a variety of dishes during the demonstrations, including steak, fries, chicken wings, baked goods, and other oven-based recipes
Showcase oven and cooking functions throughout each demo
Prepare ingredients and complete basic mise en place before each session
Learn and memorize key FreshBake Range product features and functions
Naturally introduce selected product features while cooking and explain how they can make everyday cooking and baking easier
Engage with visitors and answer basic cooking or product-related questions when appropriate
Work closely with the FOTILE marketing and event team to ensure each demo runs smoothly
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized cooking station before, during, and after each session
Follow food safety and venue requirements at all times

Requirements

Good baking / bakery skills
Solid general cooking skills
Comfortable preparing meat such as steak, as well as fries, baked goods, and other oven-based dishes
Confident using ovens, ranges, and common kitchen equipment
Comfortable cooking and speaking in front of an audience
Friendly and able to engage naturally with event visitors
Able to quickly learn and remember key product features and talking points
Reliable, organized, professional, and comfortable working in a busy trade show environment
Good communication and teamwork skills
Previous experience in restaurants, bakeries, catering, culinary programs, live cooking demos, food events, or brand activations is preferred but not required
Culinary school students, baking students, and recent graduates are encouraged to apply

About the Demo

The goal of the cooking demonstrations is not only to prepare great food, but also to showcase the cooking performance, functions, and convenience of the FOTILE FreshBake Range.

Before the event, the chef will receive basic product training and demo guidance from the FOTILE team. You will be expected to learn several key FreshBake features and naturally incorporate them into the cooking demonstration.

For example, while preparing a dish, you may briefly explain which cooking mode or oven feature is being used and how it benefits the user.

We are looking for someone who is comfortable learning the product, speaking naturally with visitors, and creating an enjoyable live cooking experience.
