Little Kickers is looking for an enthusiastic, reliable, and experienced Head Coach to lead our South Edmonton soccer programs. This leadership role is ideal for someone who is passionate about child development, youth sports, and mentoring coaches in a fun and supportive environment.
Our programs introduce children ages, 18 months to 8 years, to soccer through creative, engaging, and high-energy sessions that help build confidence, coordination, teamwork, and a love for sport.
Position Overview
The Head Coach will play a key leadership role within our coaching team, helping ensure the successful delivery of Little Kickers programs while maintaining high standards of coaching, communication, and professionalism.
This is a long-term leadership opportunity with room for growth and development within the organization.
Responsibilities
- Managing up to 50 Coaches; ages ranging from 15-25 years.
- Assist with equipment and uniform distribution
- Participate in coach training sessions and ongoing professional development
- Support the onboarding and mentorship of new coaches
- Conduct on-site coach evaluations and provide constructive feedback
- Communicate regularly with the Director of Coaching regarding staffing, coach development, and program operations
- Cover coaching shifts as needed
- Respond appropriately to emergency situations during sessions
- Complete and submit weekly attendance trackers and program reports
- Help foster a positive, inclusive, and team-oriented environment for coaches, children, and families
- Assist with program planning and development for future seasons
Qualifications
- Previous experience coaching or working with young children (ages 18 months to 7 years)
- Strong leadership, organizational, and time management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
- Passion for youth development through sport and recreation
- Valid coaching certifications or willingness to obtain them (NCCP, First Aid/CPR, etc.)
- Degree or education in Kinesiology, Sport, Recreation, Education, or a related field is considered an asset
- Previous Managerial Experience Required
- English Language is a necessity; extra language as a bonus
Compensation & Schedule
- Starting wage: From $20-23/hour based on experience
- 20-30 hours per week
- Most shifts take place during weekday evenings and weekends
- Additional weekday morning coaching hours may be available

Location Requirement: Applicants must have a drivers license and their own transportation to commute around South Edmonton, AB or plan to relocate before starting work.
