Ontario Truss & Wall (OTW) Ltd is a locally operated, top-quality Truss and Wall Design and Manufacturer. Founded in 1982, OTW has been a staple in the local construction industry for over 35 years. Quality, Design and Precision has allowed OTW to efficiently grow year over year, which requires a growing team. The current opportunity at OTW is for a Truss Designer.

About the Job:

We are currently seeking a full-time, permanent, Truss & Floor Designer to join our professional design team.

We also offer a collaborative team-oriented atmosphere, industry leading professional working environment and leading-edge technology.
Communicate with customers, engineers, architects and construction personnel to clarify requirements and to rectify field problems.
Requires an understanding of current construction theory, building practices and local building codes.
Design wood roof truss systems and engineered wood products using specialized CAD software to produce quotations, layouts and engineering documents.

Essential Skills & Education:

Completion of 2 or 3-year Arch. Tech or Civil Engineering Tech. programs or equivalent is preferred.
Minimum 5 years of truss design experience
Construction industry knowledge would be considered an asset but not a requirement.
Excellent math skills are essential.
Strong attention to detail and organization.
Able to read, interpret and visualize construction blueprints and architectural drawings in three dimensions.
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced dynamic environment and meet deadlines.
Ability to maintain positive customer relations via phone and email.
Proficient at reading, writing and speaking English.
