Full job description

Hammondbus is looking for an organized, dependable, and customer-focused Transportation Dispatcher / Office Administrator to join our operations team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys variety in their work. No two days are the same as you'll support several areas of our business, including school bus operations, charter services, public transit administration, and Hammond Tours & Travel.

What You'll DoSchool Bus & Charter Dispatch

Assist with the day-to-day dispatch of school buses and charter coaches.
Support drivers with route changes, schedule adjustments, and operational issues.
Coordinate charter trips for schools, summer camps, weddings, sports teams, corporate groups, and private events.
Help ensure our transportation services operate safely and efficiently.

On-Call Dispatch

Participate in a rotating evening and weekend on-call schedule.
Respond to driver calls and operational issues outside regular business hours.
Provide support to keep our operations running smoothly.

Transit Administration

Perform data entry and maintain operational records.
Answer customer inquiries by phone and email.
Schedule and book transit trips.
Assist with driver scheduling and other administrative duties.

Hammond Tours & Travel

Answer customer inquiries by phone and email.
Assist with tour bookings and reservations.
Provide administrative support for the travel department.

The Ideal Candidate

Is highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities.
Communicates professionally with customers, drivers, and coworkers.
Enjoys solving problems and works well under pressure.
Is comfortable using computers and learning new software.
Has strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
Works well independently and as part of a team.
Is dependable, flexible, and willing to participate in an evening and weekend on-call rotation.
Previous experience in dispatch, transportation, scheduling, customer service, or office administration is considered an asset but is not required.
