Full job description

Job Summary

We are seeking a friendly and motivated Sales Clerk to join our retail team. The ideal candidate will possess excellent customer service skills, strong communication abilities, and a passion for sales. This role involves assisting customers, managing transactions, and promoting products to enhance the shopping experience. Bilingual skills and experience in technology sales or product demos are a plus. The Sales Clerk will play a vital role in creating a welcoming environment and driving sales growth through effective merchandising and upselling techniques.

Monday- Friday 8am-5pm

Occasional Saturdays- 8am-2pm

Responsibilities

Greet customers warmly and provide exceptional customer service throughout their shopping experience
Assist customers in locating products and answer questions about merchandise, features, and benefits
Operate the POS system accurately for sales transactions, returns, and exchanges
Handle cash, process payments, and manage cash handling procedures with integrity
Conduct product demonstrations and provide detailed information on technology or other featured items
Upsell complementary products and promote ongoing promotions to increase sales
Maintain organized merchandising displays to attract customer attention and optimize product placement
Ensure the sales area is clean, organized, and well-stocked at all times
Use effective phone etiquette when communicating with customers over the phone or via digital channels
Manage time efficiently to serve multiple customers during busy periods while maintaining quality service

Requirements

Previous retail sales experience preferred; experience in technology sales or product demos is a plus
Bilingual abilities (English and additional languages) highly desirable to serve diverse customer needs
Strong communication skills with an emphasis on clear, friendly interaction
Basic math skills for handling transactions accurately and managing cash registers (POS)
Excellent organizational skills to manage merchandising displays and stock levels
Proven ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment
Good time management skills to prioritize tasks during busy hours
Knowledge of cashiering procedures, cash handling, and POS systems
Professional phone etiquette for customer inquiries and follow-up communication
Ability to upsell products tactfully to maximize sales opportunities
