Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Part-Time Coffee Shop Helper to support the operations at Georgetown Hospital. This role involves assisting with food and beverage service, maintaining a clean and welcoming environment, and ensuring excellent customer experiences. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food service, strong time management skills, and a commitment to food safety standards. This position offers an opportunity to gain experience in the food industry while contributing to the well-being of hospital staff and visitors.

Responsibilities

Prepare and serve coffee, beverages, and light snacks in accordance with hospital standards
Operate POS systems, including Micros POS, for accurate cash handling and transactions
Assist customers with their orders, providing friendly and professional customer service
Maintain cleanliness of work areas, equipment, and dining spaces in compliance with food safety regulations
Handle food safely, including proper storage, handling, and sanitation procedures
Manage cash register operations accurately, including basic math for transactions and change calculation
Restock supplies as needed to ensure smooth operation during shifts
Follow all food safety protocols and health guidelines to ensure a safe environment for staff and visitors

Skills

Experience with POS systems such as Micros POS is preferred
Previous barista or food service experience is advantageous
Strong customer service skills with a friendly demeanor
Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently
Knowledge of food handling safety standards and proper sanitation procedures
Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks during busy periods
Basic math skills for cashiering and transaction processing
Ability to work collaboratively within a team in a fast-paced environment
Good communication skills to interact effectively with customers and team members
